Deputy Estates Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting a Deputy Estates Manager at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton. Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the building and engineers services.

You will provide management and supervision of the estates engineers and specialist contract staff whilst carrying out maintenance activities and where appropriate, manage new work projects within the PFI.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of Sodexo Healthcare, Hard FM Estates Department within the guidelines and objectives agreed with the Estates Manger.
  • Provide management and supervision of the estates engineers and specialist contract staff whilst carrying out maintenance activities and where appropriate, manage new work projects within the PFI.
  • Ensure the provision of a legally compliant, cost effective, timely, & quality driven maintenance service to our client, and any organisation with which Sodexo have service level agreements with.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for the area of estates maintenance services within the PFI.
  • Monitor Sodexo objectives by supporting and delivering against estates policies and compliance with legislative and departmental requirements. This will include playing a key role in identifying opportunities for innovation and modernisation, to meet operational performance targets and Sodexo objectives. 
  • Provide detailed professional and technical advice to staff and contractors on issues that are complex and non-routine.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Operational management experience, working in an Industrial / Facilities Management Environment
  • Experience of working within a Building Maintenance Organisation
  • Proven ability to manage change, service activity and development within a large and complex organisation
  • Proven track record of achievement of organisational / development objectives
  • Quality and Preformance Monitoring techniques. Working to Key Preformance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to identify waste and superfluous tasks and have the ability to optimize the allocation of resources
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Health Technical Memorandums (HTM’s and Health Building Notes (HBN’s)
