Delivery & Stores Operative

Job Introduction

To deliver food provisions to various sites around the college campus.

To ensure customers’ orders are delivered, product quantities accounted for and documentation completed whilst  adhering to a daily delivery schedule to meet customers time slots.

To be responsible for stock, including incoming and outgoing stock items. Maintain security of stock.

To keep accurate records of where stock is allocated around site and assist with stocktaking.

Maintain HACCAP records in the stores area.

Role Responsibility

  • Comply with statutory and company requirements.
  • Ensure customers’ orders are delivered, product quantities accounted for and documentation completed
  • To carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  • To adhere to daily delivery schedule and meet customers time slots
  • To drive a company vehicle and comply with Sodexo’s driving policy and regulations
  • To deliver food supplies to various locations across the college campus.
  • Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues and client staff.
  • Promote a good company image to customers and guests by using positive customer service practices.
  • To liaise with Store Manager, hospitality team, Executive Head Chef and Catering Manager.
  • To accept deliveries of stock ensuring they are correct and any damage or discrepancies are recorded
  • To ensure that any orders are suitably packaged ready for delivery
  • To keep accurate records of where stock is allocated around site.
  • To ensure the safety and security of the stock.
  • To complete frequent and accurate stock takes
  • To report any complaints and take action where possible
  • To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the departments activities.
  • To comply with all company health and safety and food safety compliance rules and to report any issues.

Irregular Duties:

  • To assist as required with driving that may occur outside of regular hours, for which you will be paid overtime
  • To deliver and collect light equipment to various locations across the college campus.
  • To report any incident of accident, fire, theft, loss damage and take action as may be appropriate or possible.
  • To attend meetings and courses as required, and to complete any online training that is required for the role.
  • To complete stock orders with suppliers. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold full UK current driving licence with no endorsments.
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Ability to work in a role that requires physical effort and perform manual handling tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually as needed
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
  • Numerate and Literate

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience in similar role either in a stores/ warehouse capacity or kitchen/catering environment.

  • To keep accurate record with regards to vehicle checks and stores stock levels
  • To demonstrate a can – do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • To be compliant with all legislative and company food safety and health and safety regulations.
  • To be accountable for stock management and its security.

Package Description

We are looking for a part time term time only assistants to join our busy catering stores department at Clifton College in Bristol. 

The department are responsible for all incoming stock deliveries as well as distributing stock and equipment across the campus. The stores team is small so we are looking for a proactive candidate who is able to work on their own some of the time. 

A clean driving licence is essential for the role as you will be using a company vehicle on a daily basis. The ability to perform manual handling tasks is also essential. 

Experience in either a catering or warehouse environment would be an advantage.

The role is 5 days out of 7, and includes a Saturday on a rota basis, which is usually once every 3 weeks. 

Shift times are either 6.30am-11.45am (week 1) and 9.45am- 3pm (week 2) but the flexibility to work later some of the time would be useful to suit the business need
