We are looking for a Cleaning Manager to join the Independents by Sodexo team at a prestigious independent school in the Edinburgh area. This Independent School is a modern, exciting, vibrant co-educational school for 2- to 18-year-olds. Housed on two sites in Edinburgh, the school provides the best in 21st century education.   

This role blends team leadership and the management of a large cleaning team. Well suited to someone with high level relationship skills, strong commercial acumen and a ‘can do’ attitude whilst able to drive innovation.

Role Responsibility

  • Management of Cleaning team - 40+ staff 
  • To ensure financial aspects of catering operations are managed professionally and within the financial guidelines agreed with the client  
  • Effectively manage the Sodexo team to ensure that exemplary services are provided at the school.   
  • Manage resources and promote an ethos of teamwork and to instil a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Act as the primary representative of Sodexo within the contract by the effective management of cleaning team qualitative and quantitative results 
  • Foster long term relationships with the schools to maintain existing business and identify new business opportunities by delivering operational excellence 
  • Provide direction and expertise to the operating teams by promoting Sodexo strategies and best business practices to uphold the Company mission and values 
  • Motivate, train and lead a high performing team to achieve their objectives 
  • Hold monthly team briefing meetings using Company team brief advising of key company messages 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Contract/FM experience 
  • IOSH/NEBOSH/FM qualification 
  • British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) qualified  
  • Knowledge of external cleaning developments and innovations. 
  • Independent School/College/University background would be preferable 
  • A confident communicator especially at client high level essential 
  • Strong IT & financial skills are essential  
  • Ability to act on own initiative and take ownership 
  • Confident in leading & motivating a team 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the constraints of working within a school – a PVG certificate is mandatory

Package Description

c£40,000pa + great benefits 

Location: Edinburgh 

Permanent  

Work Pattern – 40hrs pw Mon – Fri, occasional weekends if necessary
