A few things about you 

With great organisation skills and a friendly approach you'll be cooking delicious dishes for our students and staff, whilst always ensuring your preparation and kitchen areas are glistening!

To keep things ticking along, you’ll bring your knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene, your level 2 NVQ chef qualification (or equivalent) and contagious smile!

It would be great if you had experience of working in a school environment but, don’t worry if not, as we would still love to hear from you!

Sodexo embeds a strong Safety culture in everything we do. There will be company procedures to follow so good knowledge of HACCP, COSHH procedures and Food Hygiene Regulation is vital. 

 

Role Responsibility

Assist in the day to day running of the Kitchen.

Manage the Kitchen in the absence of the Chef Manger,Sous Chef and Senior Chef de Partie

Assist in maintaining an efficient Kitchen Management Record System in line with company policy.

Health and Safety and Food Safety Compliance.

Assist in managing deliveries and stock in line with company policies, looking to reduce waste as much as safely possible

Ensuring all areas within the kitchen control are clean, hygienic  and tidy at all times

Ensuring the safety and security of company and client property

Reporting of all complaints to line Manager

Reporting of all incidents of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities to line Manager, taking appropriate action where needed

Complete all Mandatory required training in line with company policies

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Relevant Qualifications NVQ2/3 or equivalent

Proven relevant industry experience in a kitchen producing fresh food from scratch

Good knowledge of operational Health and Safety

Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene

Excellent Communication skills

High standard of personal hygiene and appearance.

Team focused, with experience of supervising a team in an efficient and friendly manner

 

 

Package Description

  •  30 hours per week
  •  Competitive
  •  3 weekly Rota. 1 weekend out of 3. 2 weeks work 4 days out of 7. 1 week work 5 days out of 7. Shifts between the hours of 6.30 am/7pm
  • Term Time with additional cleaning and training days. 41 weeks per year
  • Full protective uniform supplied
