Change Communications Manager (maternity cover)

Job Introduction

We’re looking for communications professional with a passion for internal communications and engagement, to join us for a FTC maternity cover within our Brand & Communications team.

As the Change Communications Manager you’ll take accountability for growth and transformation initiatives - strategically advising, supporting and enabling the business to drive meaningful behavioural change through development & delivery of high-quality communications strategies and campaign plans. You’ll project manage creative work from agency partners in partnership with the our creative team. You’ll be bold with ideas, and you won’t be afraid to think differently! You’ll be audience and measurement focused; developing and implementing campaigns that lead to genuine behaviour change. You’ll be focused on outcomes and impact, and not just the outputs. 

This is an exciting role as a strategic partner within a socially responsible and diverse organisation. You’ll have a good grasp of communication strategies, and how to align them to business needs, whilst supporting senior leaders in communicating change.

This role has no fixed location however some travel to the Salford office for team meetings and collaborative working will be required. This is a 9-12m maternity cover.

Role Responsibility

  • Act as UK&I Brand & Communications business partner to project teams of key strategic growth projects, understand business challenges and opportunities of each initiative, and translate into impactful communications solutions
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging campaigns in line with agreed strategies for designated initiatives, as well as overarching regional communications strategies
  • Build and nurture positive, effective working relationships with project teams, becoming a trusted strategic communications advisor, business partner, and team player
  • Develop, and enable effective deployment of, comprehensive stakeholder engagement maps and plans, ensuring customer satisfaction of internal project stakeholders through effective client management, timely delivery of work, and regular reporting
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, written content for internal (and, occasionally, external) channels, in support of agreed initiatives, and working with wider Employee & Change Communications team
  • Act as a Sodexo brand guardian, promoting the Sodexo brand guidelines to project teams, and ensuring understanding and compliance

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in change and / or internal communications roles (in-house or agency) with proven success in developing and executing change communications strategies and campaign plans
  • Credibility as business partner and ability to coach and influence senior leaders and other colleagues, and shape decision-making
  • Evidence of understanding and successful application of change management and / or communication theory
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a sense of creativity and bold curiosity
  • Resilient and able to deal with ambiguity, strong people and stakeholder management skills
  • Articulate and effective communicator with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial and proactive spirit

Package Description

c. £36,000 per annum
