Catering Site Lead

Job Introduction

Sodexo is looking for a Catering Site Lead in Dublin. This position reports to the Catering Operations Manager. The Site Lead is in accountable for ensuring that our prestigious client receives the best catering possible.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., catering services offer breakfast, lunch, café, and snack service as well as hospitality events. Although services were scaled back during Covid, it is anticipated that they will grow dramatically in the coming months, necessitating the need for support with unique ad hoc tasks, some of which may take place outside of normal business hours.

Role Responsibility

  • Delivery of a consistent level of service, within the Company's standards, to the contract specification and agreed performance.
  • Uphold the standards across the site is in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and KPI’s specified in the service contract.
  • Ensure that the areas under your control are always left clean and tidy and cleaning rotas are in place.
  • Maintain high standards of personal performance, hygiene, appearance, and cleanliness always.
  • Ensure that there is always enough cover in the kitchen; plan work schedules based on skills.
  • Communicate effectively and provide a pleasant, polite, efficient, caring, and friendly service to customers and clients in all areas of service provided by Sodexo.
  • Report any customer complaints or compliments and, if possible, take corrective action, always following company procedure and informing the Line Manager.
  • Begin a process of continuous improvement by launching company promotions and extraordinary merchandising initiatives to ensure the contract's profitable growth.
  • Comply with all Company and client policies, procedures, and statutory regulations, including human resources, site rules, health and safety, safe working practises, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace.
  • Ensure that all training is completed on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety.
  • Ensure that the store-person receives and checks in goods for quantity and quality against the invoice, and that all goods are quickly and correctly stored on a rotation system according to the "first in, first out" rule, and that temperature records are kept when necessary.
  • Ensure that all catering equipment in the kitchen is in good working order, that it is checked and serviced on a regular basis. Any faults should be reported to management, the client, and the maintenance engineer, and the equipment should not be used until it is safe.
  • Confirm that the temperature of refrigerators, freezers, and hot cupboards/serveries is monitored and recorded in accordance with company regulations and the Food Safety Act, and that all areas are HACCP compliant.
  • Report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities immediately and take appropriate action.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new food concepts, marketing strategies, healthy eating options, and sustainable fish options.
  • To guarantee that the unit has a strong emphasis on presentation, promotion, and healthy eating, provide craft training to enhance production abilities.
  • Discuss all issues relating to food service with the chefs and management.
  • Ordering from suppliers designated by Sodexo to help ensure adherence to menu planning, ordering, and stock control processes.
  • Ascertain that raw material and portion control adheres to corporate requirements, and that food is served at the appropriate temperature.
  • Ensure that all costs and expenditures are within the agreed-upon budgeted levels between the client and Sodexo. Control all costs, including labour, expenses, cash purchases, and inventory, as agreed upon with your Line Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential 

  • Proven track record in similar role, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience.
  • Good knowledge of a service industry and the importance of customer service.
  • Proven ability to organize tasks.
  • Ability to carry out duties efficiently.
  • Excellent people skills.

Desirable

  • Measured and consistent approach to all functions and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of H.A.C.C.P / Supervising Food Safety Certificate.
  • Previous experience in managing people and general knowledge in good H.R. practices together with payroll entry and e-Prophit tasks.​
  • A willingness to participate in any necessary training and team meetings as required to complete job responsibilities to the company's and client's standards e.g. Health and Safety, food hygiene
