Catering Manager

Are you a creative Catering Manager with a proven track record in contract catering and hospitality? We want to hear from you!

We are looking for a Catering Manager to join our team on our high-profile automotive client site in Epsom, Surrey. You would be looking after a team of 15 with a Sous Chef and a Front of House Supervisor reporting to you. You would manage the catering, hospitality and vending services on site as well as hold full budget responsibility for your department. You would be creative, with a passion for innovation in the food sector, experience in managing P&L contract, meeting expected KPI standards along with great people management skills and a real eye for detail.

Role Responsibility

  • To oversee the delivery and development of all catering facilities through commercial initiatives, innovation and team development. 
  • To manage and comply with all company, client and legal Health and Safety requirements.
  • To devise and implement a strategy of food offer, innovation & growth which is in tune with requirements for new trends whilst keeping the main meal service alive, to drive additional revenue in all areas of the food offer provision.
  • To ensure that the company's accountancy, documentation and administration procedures are carried out to the laid down standard. This may be electronically, paper-based, or both, as instructed.
  • To control and monitor the financial performance and ensure that all financial targets are achieved in terms of margin, P&L and wastage control are in line with budget and forecast.
  • Improve patronage, grow sales & increase customer satisfaction based on industry insight and company’s best practice.
  • To ensure the prompt and efficient preparation, service and display of all food areas to the company’s standard and to the client’s satisfaction. 
  • To ensure HR policies and processes are adhered to, in relation to recruitment, induction and development of all catering personnel.
  • To produce all required reports as necessary to senior site management within the required timelines

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Good standard of financial acumen, managing budgets and profit & loss
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience of developing an innovative food offer to meet client and customer needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff at all levels
  • Ability to develop increasing individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
  • Self-motivated
  • Sense of own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to delegate when and where necessary
  • Flexible approach to role

Desirable

  • CIEH Level 3 Food Safety qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safety qualification
