Catering Administrator

Job Introduction

HMP Addiewell are currently recruiting for a part time Catering Administrator.

You will support the Catering Team Leader in the day to day running of the Catering Department with regards to Purchasing, Deliveries, Stock Control, reporting any faults within the kitchen, distributing notices and any other duties required.

HM Prison Addiewell is a high security prison, with a focus on enabling those in its care to change their life pathway. We have a strong and concerted focus on supporting prisoners to address their offending behaviour through delivery of programmes and working with a range of professionals including prison custody officers. We deliver relevant skills via training and employment and work with all areas of the wider community to ensure that prisoners have the best possible chance of leading positive lives following release. 

We have an effective prisoner peer support model, in which prisoners assist staff in the delivery of classes, programmes and activities becoming positive role models for others.

Addiewell opened in 2008 and has become an integral part of the Scottish Prison Service estate earning much praise for our innovation, use of technology, strong partnership working as well as our “can do” culture.

Role Responsibility

  • Checking deliveries against the delivery notes, raising any queries regarding shortages and product quality.
  • Ensure all Catering Documentation is completed and stored in an organised manner.
  • Ensure all equipment faults are recorded as soon as possible to maintain the smooth running of the Department.
  • Support the Catering Team Leader during Audits ensuring Statutory Compliant Records are up to date
  • Support the Deputy Facilities Manager as and when required.
  • Support the Catering Dept Leads as and when required.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong IT Skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of working within a Catering Department.
  • Experience of working within a secure environment.
  • Experience of working within a Health & Safety Environment.
  • Experience of Managing of Stock Control
  • Flexible approach to working in a busy environment

Desirable

  • A basic understanding of Food Hygiene

Package Description

£9,888 per annum plus excellent benefits (including free meals and parking, group discount schemes and pension with 28 days holiday pro-rated)

20 hours a week - Monday to Friday
