Catering Manager
Job Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our fantastic team at Strathallan School in Perth, Scotland. In this role you will manage a boarding school catering contract including hospitality events and external lets business within the school.
Strathallan School is large prestigious Independent Boarding school for boys & girls from 9 – 18 years of age located in Forgandenny, Perth, Scotland.

Due to the nature of the role you may be required to work occasional weekend and evening shifts.
Role Responsibility
- Manage and cultivate stakeholder relationships
- Driving Continuous Improvement & innovation through the contract.
- Manage and control the services to the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets
- Provide strategic and technical support – professional advice to customers, peers and team.
- Ensure financial aspects of catering operations are managed professionally and within the financial guidelines agreed with the client
- Ensure the Sodexo Health & Safety policy is adhered to and that all unit personnel are aware of the policy and their responsibility for it's implementation
- Effectively manage the Sodexo team to ensure that exemplary services are provided at the school.
- Manage resources and promote an ethos of team work and to instil a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide direction and expertise to the operating teams by promoting Sodexo strategies and best business practices in order to uphold the Company mission and values
- Coordinate and direct all activities within the school covering catering
The Ideal Candidate
What’s essential:
- Experience of nurturing key stakeholder relationships
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment
- Experience of managing an overall budget with diverse functional components (i.e. catering, cleaning, etc.)
- A recognised food hygiene qualification
- Clear understanding of Health and Safety legislation
- Clear understanding of Food Hygiene legislation
- Excellent organisational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly skilled in IT
