Working Floor Team Leader

Job Introduction

  • Be a brand ambassador for Sodexo by assisting to leading the Business Support Centre team to provide outstanding services to our client and their customers & visitors. Providing tailor made services that meet both the Leatherhead community and customers/visitors expectations.
  • Ensure an exceptional experience is provided by the BSC team through Customer Service, efficiency and a can do attitude.
  • Develop individual and team capability ensuring the team gain knowledge and understanding of the customer, the site and other services, so they can deliver a one touch service to everyone they meet.
  • Work closely with the Business Support Centre Manager on all aspects of the business and take ownership of the BSC when required. To actively assist the BSC Manager in the administration, H&S and training of the team.
  • Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, statutory regulations relating to your work place, this will include but not limited to fire; health and safety; hygiene; working safely; COSHH.
  • Carry out the role of a working Floor Steward, taking ownership of issues and leading the Floor Steward team in terms of service continuity.
  • Be first point of contact with the Porter Team, in regards to meeting room and event set ups.
  • Be primary lead for on site events with Audio Visual requirements
  • Work closely with Project Management team for on site moves

Role Responsibility

  • Working as part of the team and leading the team to successfully deliver the BSC service whether it be in relation to floor steward duties, porterage, reprographics, post and couriers and events management.
  • Work as part of the Sodexo team building on a one team approach and eliminating the ‘not my job’ mentality.  
  • To show flexibility within the role and be prepared to assist in either areas within the unit when necessary
  • When possible to undertake overtime as requested to ensure the efficient operation of the Business Support Centre.
  • Develop, nurture, train and motivate team members as Ambassadors to our client and Sodexo
  • Create a customer centric culture, ensuring every customer feels welcome, and receives the appropriate level of service for their needs 
  • Ensure everything on site is functioning and if issues do arise work on resolving it with no or limited impact on the customer, they are escalated to the senior management team, timely with clear resolution.  Always represent Sodexo in a welcoming manner, which is safe and without risk.  
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our client and Sodexo, whilst creating strong relationships across the business.
  • Make certain that all service level agreements relating to the contract are achieved and a clear understanding of expectations is shared with the wider team.
  • To fulfil all health, safety and environment safety procedures (SEMS) to foster safe working practices and ensure the team are full competent.  This may include on site incident control management procedures. 
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • The working floor team leader must be professional, friendly, efficient and above all articulate with a positive can do attitude. 
  • The role requires strong interpersonal skills, and competent verbal and written communication
  • The individual must have the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a calm demeanour. An ability to bring some fun & humour to the team will go a long way!
  • Experienced within customer relations and how to manage all requests to a successful and positive resolution 
  • Requires a strength in proactively owning and leading challenge through to successful completion, communicating clearly and concisely to both customer and site leadership
  • Successful in leading and nurturing a professional team in a multi skilled environment
  • A natural ability to work with a range of different people from Senior Leaders to front line service teams
  • Good understanding and experience of working in a mailroom/reprographic/AV/Events environment
  • Attention to detail, methodical approach
  • Ability to challenge ideas and opinions in sometimes confrontational situations to a positive outcome
  • Health and safety experience, especially in relating methods of working to the risk and how to control these is a must
  • The ability to apply logical and creative thinking to a situation to gain the best outcome
