Training Advisor

Job Introduction

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join the Sodexo team at Ascot; we are looking to recruit a Training Advisor to join the HR team on site. Ascot Racecourse is synonymous with quality, excellence and a memorable customer experience, few sporting venues in the world can match the history or prestige of Ascot. We employ a large number of casual hospitality team members at Ascot, which we put through our industry leading Ascot Academy Programme; this ensures employees are trained on how to perform in their role at an exceptional standard. You will oversee the design and delivery of that Academy, in addition to providing additional training support ensuring service excellence across all our hospitality areas.

Role Responsibility

You will take ownership of the Ascot Academy Programme and onboard new starters by booking and delivering initial training sessions, ensuring new starters possess the appropriate skills and knowledge prior to working at any race days or events.  You will also be responsible for the e-learning programmes, uploading new starters onto the system, updating completion modules, administering user records and creating additional e-learning material. It is imperative that our teams operate at a high level and this role involves managing and monitoring casual staff performance, including additional training support during race days and events, from using the tills, customer service and hospitality service. You will be involved in checking standards throughout the operation during race days. As part of the wider HR team you will also support in recruitment, communication with our casual workforce and engagement of employees through team briefings and newsletters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that enjoys delivering training however likes the opportunity to be hands on within an operational role.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of conducting training sessions
  • Passionate about Service Excellence and Customer Service within the Hospitality Industry
  • Strong organisational and time keeping skills with good written and verbal communication
  • Confident in the use of MS Office Systems
  • Comfortable in working as part of a small team
  • A flexible approach to working hours, for prolonged periods of time during event season.
