Technical Laboratory Support

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking a highly talented and driven person to join our team.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload.

Role Responsibility

  • Carry out receipt of samples onto the LIMS system and label samples with LIMS Label.
  • Prepare composite samples of materials where necessary.
  • Prepare and file Batch Analytical packages.
  • Prepare and store Retention samples as required in accordance with local SOP.
  • Communicate to the Lab Leader regarding any sample issues.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste (solid and liquid) as required and in accordance with local SOP.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of all relevant site Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain laboratory records in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain individual training records on an ongoing basis.
  • Preparation of laboratory reagents
  • Raise Purchase orders for consumables/chemicals in accordance with store VMI and adhoc order items.
  • Maintain and stock the satellite chemical stores, in association with Fisher.
  • Maintain Chemical stores in inspection ready state.

    Safety

  • Become familiar with the relevant safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Participate fully in the site’s safety initiative and ensure that all relevant safety precautions are undertaken when working in the laboratory. Ensure correct disposal of waste from the laboratory.
  • Request workplace/chemical risk assessments as appropriate
  • All accidents/incidents however small must be reported to supervisor.
  • Quality Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in a compliant manner and behave in accordance with our Quality Management System requirements.
  • Participate fully in our site’s quality initiatives and ensure that all relevant quality standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain GMP standards where appropriate to your role
  • Read and understand relevant Standard Operating Procedures relevant to your job role.
  • Attend training and complete assessments as required.
  • Work in a GMP quality compliant manner at all times
  • Be inspection ready at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Familiar with GMP as applied to an analytical laboratory
  • IT literate to the demand of current data system architecture and electronic communications.

Knowledge

  • GMP competent as applied to an analytical laboratory
  • A demonstrated commitment to Quality and EHS
