Staffing Coordinator

Job Introduction

We currently have an excellent opportunity for someone to join the Sodexo team at Ascot. We are looking to recruit a Staffing Coordinator to join the HR team on site. This role will provide proactive recruitment and staffing support to the business, ensuring consistent delivery of the Staffing/HR strategy and Events business plan. You will support the Staffing Manager in delivering the recruitment/staffing requirements for Racedays, and the Banquets and Events business at Ascot Hospitality.

Role Responsibility

You will be responsible for ensuring the correct levels of casual staff are working for race days and events, by holding recruitment days, working with universities, engaging with agencies and optimising the Be More Than A Spectator brand. Promoting opportunities through social media and networking events, your role will be to ensure there is a workforce ready to meet the challenging demands of a very busy Ascot schedule. From race days to weddings and Royal Ascot our staff on site impact the overall experience of the Ascot customer.

In addition you will be responsible for forecasting costs, working to budgets, arranging transport, overseeing uniforms and expenses. You will be required to be present on race days and key events, including Royal Ascot where the hours are long but the rewards are amazing. The role is a mixture of office work and operational, you will be hands on during race days and events, checking in staff and dealing with any concerns.  This is a demanding role due to long hours during event season however is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of our most high profile Clients.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working in the event industry
  • Experience working in a Staffing function
  • Motivated and adaptable, confidently able to manage workload and different tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident in the use of MS Office, especially Excel along with other computer programmes 
  • Experience of managing a direct report desirable but not essential
  • A flexible approach to working hours
