Staffing Coordinator (Event Coordinator)

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Sodexo as a Staffing Coordinator providing support to The Events Team in the delivery of labour, staff welfare and recruitment.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure the staffing objectives and process are met for each Event
  • To provide effective (commercially and operationally) staffing and welfare solutions to major events operated by the Sodexo Staffing Team.
  • Analyse and report the forecasted staffing costs, including management, chefs, direct/agency staff, subsistence, transport, accommodation, uniform and expenses for allocated events.
  • Source and book appropriate staff for each event and maximise the use of direct recruits.
  • Effectively communicate with all staff and agency providers and provide the, necessary information relating to the event, e.g. start dates, accommodation, pay rates, transportation schedule. Explore new fresh and engaging mediums to brief staff such as Facebook, in-advance event briefing documents
  • Ensure all employees are paid the correct wages in a timely manner. Any wages queries are dealt with efficiently.
  • Be an approachable and engaging member of the Events Team and as such be the first and most important contact with the casual manager and direct recruit populations.
  • Work continually to ensure the high consistency and retention of casual employees for the event season
  • Ensure staff members are dressed to the agreed standard – rigorously enforce dress standards to ensure the staff that Sodexo puts in front of our clients and their customers we can all be proud of.
  • Ensure all employment legislation is adhered to, minimising any risk to Sodexo

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience in HR/Staffing in the food service, catering and/or hospitality industry
  • Good understanding of budget management and good numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, work with flexible schedule and changing priorities is essential
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Related field or equivalent experience
  • H&S Certification
  • Flexible approach to the role, able to support the wider Events Team
