Security Officer

Role Responsibility

As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:

 

  • Ad-hoc support for our security operations
  • Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
  • Patrolling, securing and monitoring premises, sometimes with the aid of closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • Supervising the door for a large organisation
  • Guarding cash or other valuables in transit in a security vehicle
  • Driving vehicles as and when required
  • Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • A full current driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent awareness skills
  • Experience in working in a similar role
  • A SIA Licence holder – Manned Guarding Licence, SIA Licence holder – CCTV desirable
  • Knowledge of security techniques
  • Knowledge of site and local emergency procedures

An opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer/Weighbridge Operative based @ Unilever Warrington.

 

To control the daily Security & Weighbridge Operation to the agreed specification and to the standards laid down by Sodexo and the Client

 

This position requires a proactive customer focused individual with an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.

 

This person needs to be a forward thinker with a methodical approach, exceptional planning, and excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to cope when being challenged.

 

Responsible for:

 

  • Management of contractors, deliveries and visitors to site.
  • To ensure that visitors and all building users experience the highest level of service in a pleasant, tidy and safe environment.
  • Provision of weighbridge duties for heavy good vehicles into and out of the site.
  • To demonstrate ownership of problems and relay solutions in a timely manner.

 

Main duties will include

 

  • Enforcement of the site rules and standards including Housekeeping, Security and Health & Safety to visitors and occupants.
  • Provide extremely high levels of customer service to contractors, visitors and occupants of the site.
  • Access control (Visitors/Contractors/Deliveries)
  • Carry out Stop and Search, (Vehicle/Personnel)
  • CCTV Monitoring.
  • CCTV routine operations.
  • Checking materials leaving site is correctly authorised.
  • Control entry to site vehicles and pedestrians
  • Emergency Rules followed in accordance to the security function
  • Emergency situations dealt with and reported through to the admin support officer for completion of records.
  • Investigate thefts and send reports to the admin control officer for dissemination.
  • Inspection of fence line and general site surroundings on a regular basis
  • Lone workers monitored.
  • Maintenance of records and log books
  • Make sure assignment instructions are followed.
  • Monitoring of site plant, intruder & fire alarms.
  • Operation of site communication equipment.
  • Opening and monitoring of all gates.
  • Police liaison.
  • Site Patrolling and reporting.
  • Unlock and lock of ad hoc areas when requested.
  • Use of fire extinguishers when required.
