SHE Compliance Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for an experienced SHE & Compliance Manager. You will be based in York covering 22 client sites across the UK so you must be flexible to travel as and when needed. You will ensure that all requirements of Health, Safety and Compliance are implemented; embedded and delivered across both hard and soft services so a background in FM would be hugely beneficial. Role Responsibility

• Ensure Health and Safety compliance with policies, systems and procedures are in place for- Standard Operating Practices, Risk assessments, Safe systems of work, Control of contractors, Site induction programme, Tool box talks, Permit to work systems
• Ensure consistent application and communication of both the client and Sodexo Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, practices and initiatives, with particular regard to contractual requirements, while liaising with the Unit/Site management.
• Functional responsibility for service activity for ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and non-statutory legislation/guidance and site specific health and safety and welfare policies, and ensure site is audit ready for external inspections at all times
• Ensure that all sites are statutory and mandatory (contractually) compliant at all times for services delivered within scope, and robust and rigorous means of recording and auditing this are maintained.
• Coach and mentor members of the IFM teams delivering Sodexo services.
• Ensure that processes are in place to assure the prompt provision and efficient delivery of all services at the specified time to the standards laid down in specified contract Key Performance Indicator’s.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant sections of the Quality Assurance Audit and to complete routine audits at required frequency, including Stop Shift Audits and Value for Money (VFM) Audits.
• Ensure systems are in place to assure that all equipment used by the service delivery team and the overall establishment, is safe and secure at all times.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and communicate at every opportunity.
• Actively seek and identify opportunities for innovation and business improvement measures within responsible contractual areas and within the Sodexo FM business.
  Attend to and take all necessary action, statutory or otherwise, in the event of incidents or accident, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

• National H&S qualification (NVQ 4 or equivalent)
• Detailed knowledge of current health, safety and environmental legislation
• Reporting: Ability to write persuasive and effective reports and communications, which clearly define findings and their causes, and recommendations made.
• Excellent knowledge of working in complex regulated buildings
• Ability to prioritise work to tight deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
• Excellent IT skills
• Numerate and Literate with developed communication skills
• Flexible with the ability to work under pressure whilst looking for continual improvements to service delivery
• Ability to grasp requirements effectively and to relate to the service provisions of the Contract
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• NEBOSH diploma
• Lead Auditor qualification
