SHE Advisor / H&S Advisor
Job Introduction
Sodexo are currently recruiting for an experienced SHE Advisor to be based at Eli Lilly (Speke). You will be responsible for developing and owning the EHS Improvement Plan for the outsourced IFM contract; working as part of an integrated team linking with Site Business Managers; unit staff teams, and client site/SHE representatives dedicated to this contract.
Role Responsibility
- Ensure that safety programs are in 100% compliance with current legislation and regulatory requirements and meet the requirements of Sodexo and clients’ policies and procedures ensuring liaison with on site contractors and advising of the necessary requirements accordingly.
- You will implement accidents and loss prevention programs, interact with supervisors, workers and contractors to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices. Manage accident investigations on site with the use of the client systems, producing subsequent reports and recommendations working towards a zero accident rate.
- You will review and update all COSHH and Risk Assessments to reference Safe Systems of Work. To implement risk assessments outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
- Carry out and develop Site inductions and Security Vetting procedures
- Produce monthly management reports to feed into Sodexo Management team meetings and ensure correct distribution of relevant bulletins and safety flashes
- Ensure correct delivery of site induction training for all new starters and contractors
- Assume the role required for the instruction of in-house training/toolbox talks with managers, employees and resident on site contractors in reference to health and safety issued and risks
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Minimum A-Level education
- Solid experience in a dedicated safety role plus NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6
- Experience of developing and implementing improvement plans for SHE
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO standards
- A good technical awareness of SHE legislation and a good overview of IFM services
- Good verbal and written skills and capable of producing technical reports
- Good customer service skills / client facing skills
- Experience of accident and incident investigation
- Experience of giving site inductions, presentations and training in core health and safety
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff
- Ability to self-prioritise and manage work load to achieve demanding deadlines
Desirable
- Experience of delivering SHE in a Hard Services Manufacturing Environment
- Experience in Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction and/or Engineering
- Degree level education
- Trained auditor
- Experience in taking part in external audits, preferably from MHRA / FDA/HSE
- Formal qualifications and/or accreditation in quality assurance
- Internal and external audit skills
