Retail Co-ordinator

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Retail Co-ordinator to run the provision, receipt and delivery of services in the restaurant, hospitality, function and vending outlets on site at one of our hospital contracts in Barnstaple.

You will be responsible for the effective marketing, promotion and delivery of services on a strictly commercial basis, ensuring a timely and accurate response to all requests you are faced with.

Role Responsibility

  • Managing a team of 12-20 staff on site
  • Ensure the prompt service of safe and appetising meals and refreshments, at required times
  • Identify areas of service opportunity; develop proposals and strategies for service advancement
  • Maintain and develop a positive working culture and an environment of innovation through sound leadership and effective communication
  • Develop and operate necessary commercial and financial records in line with Company and Trust procedures and targets
  • Communicate with stores controller and head chef to ensure correct utilisation of foodstuffs to provide service within agreed portion specification and cost constraints
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic production and services areas to the required standards
  • Assist in the continuation of catering services during times of absence of other catering personnel
  • Maintain the integrity and reputation of the department by effective and harmonious attitudes and relationships with patients, management, hospital personnel and the general public.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in controlling a catering outlet
  • Proven experience in managing a team
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Appreciation of budgetary process and financial understanding
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the Food Safety Act
  • Proven IT skills including Word and Excel
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Excellent customer care skills

Desirable

  • Hold a recognised catering qualification
  • Experience in controlling a catering outlet within the service industry on a commercial basis
  • Advanced ( Level3) Food Hygiene Certificate

Package Description

Flexible to travel for meetings and training purposes (occasional overnight stays may be required).
