QHSE Advisor (Defence sites - Quality, Health, Safety, Environment)

Job Introduction

As part of the QHSE role, you will be required to support our Defence sites within London, stretching across Windsor, West and Central London out to Woolwich and so regular travel is key, as is building interest in behavioural  safety with the teams.  

You'll implement the Sodexo Integrated Management System including Quality, Health, Safety and environmental best practice, across all elements of service delivery platform, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation. You will work proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and customers.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintenance of management system to BS11000, ISO 9001:2008; HSG57/ISO 18001; ISO 14001
  • Managing active achievement of Quality Management Plan and KPI targets therein
  • Actively drive a zero harm culture within the business area
  • Developing and leading the operation and promotion of an integrated management system, encompassing a pro-active environmental, health and safety culture across the region.
  • Facilitating the maintenance and management of environmental health, safety and well-being through systems, audit/ inspection and the establishment of high standards and expectations on colleagues of service excellence and safety awareness behaviours / performance.
  • Managing client relationships and expectations relevant to the job role. Maintain formal and informal communications with clients, Sodexo Defence HSE Executive, sub-contractors and customers.
  • Legislative compliance, ensuring that all HSE aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice

The Ideal Candidate

  • NEBOSH accredited or working toward a level 6 Safety Qualification, completed within 12 months from the start date
  • Level 4 Food Safety Qualification or to be met within 6 months
  • Certificate level environmental qualification
  • Internal auditor in an ISO standard
  • Good organisational and communication skills and production of concise information.
  • Ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, both prescribed and self – imposed
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
  • Experience of managing safety in a similar environment
  • Able to demonstrate achievement of continuous improvement in the workplace
  • Driving licence and flexible to travel

 

Desirable

  • Affiliation to a suitable professional chartered body
  • Responsibility for a management system operation
  • CMIOSH

Package Description

salary up to £35,895.50 dependent on experience, qualifications and skill set plus benefits including  bonus, pension, very popular group discount schemes, option to buy additional flexible benefits such as holidays, healthcare etc
