Job Introduction

Cumbria and Lancashire Community Rehabilitation Company is seeking to recruit Probation Service Officers (Programme Facilitators).

This is a great opportunity to join teams contributing to the delivery of both accredited and non-accredited group work programmes. You will play an integral part in supervision of offenders, this will include taking a central role in their supervision and the delivery of group work programmes.  

Locations available include Accrington, Preston, Lancaster, Carlisle and Blackpool; however as this is a countywide team successful candidates will be required to travel to various offices throughout the Cumbria and Lancashire CRC.

Role Responsibility

Successful candidates will be required to deliver accredited and non-accredited group work programmes, which will include evenings and weekends as standard. Full training will be provided and requires the successful candidates to pass assessed and ongoing training as part of the role.

The group work interventions are delivered to offenders covering a range of criminogenic risk deficits including domestic violence perpetrators and offenders with anger management issues relating to low, medium, and high risk offenders.

Applications are particularly welcome from individuals who are accredited to deliver any of the following group work programmes; Building Better Relationships programme (BBR), Thinking Skills programme (TSP), Drink Impaired Drivers programme (DID) and the Resolve anger management programme.

The Ideal Candidate

Post holders will possess effective communication skills both in a group and on an individual basis. Experience of working with a variety of people who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties is essential. Applicants will be educated to GCSE standard and a basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the role of the Probation Service would be advantageous. You must have the ability to write analytical reports to a high standard and have a clean driving licence and access to a car.

Package Description

Band 3 - £22,039 to £27,373 (plus unsocial hours payment)
