Portering / Logistics Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Portering Manager to join our Soft FM platform within Sodexo. We are looking for a candidate that has the flex and ability to provide proactive professional portering advice and service improvement recommendations across the business. By design you will be a jack of all trades as you will be involved in other specialisms including waste management, mailroom, furniture moves, including an overlap with security and fire management.

This role will suit either a strong General Service Manager managing a similar environment i.e. Healthcare or large site with logistics, a strong portering individual with the characteristics to be proactive and professional within this service line or a logistics expert looking to branch their experience into a new way of working being able to apply specialism into different sectors.

This role is a home based role, we are flexible where you live.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Develop and deliver solutions of predictable quality and cost through integration of service lines, understanding productivity and standardized market leading portering/logistics practices.
  • Support the business in bids and mobilisations
  • Maintain caliber of expertise in order to play an integral role in service design, deployment and innovation work streams
  • Engage and communicate with the portering professional family and others across the business to ensure we are competently and effectively articulating the portering/logistics service internally and externally.
  • Provide competent advice and assistance on portering/logistics issues across the business

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • A good understanding of portering/logistics through qualifications or equivalent and work experience.
  • Knowledge of the external portering/logistics market and applicable legislation
  • Experience of selling portering/logistics service within a fast paced, multi-faceted sector
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to present and write technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Knowledge of costing strategies and working within a commercial/sales environment
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills and ability to balance conflicting priorities
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Tenacity and determination to get the job done
  • Driving licence and ability to travel in the UK &I

 

Desirable

  • Analytical and data management skills
  • Experience of Membership of a relevant professional body
