Patient Services Manager (Chef Manager)

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Patient Services Manager to oversee the patient catering operation at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

This role has the responsibility and accountability for delivering the highest standards of service across patient dining services and will have strong focus on customer experience, front of house service and dietary/menu planning.

If you have excellent communication skills, have a good understanding of specialist dietary requirements and have proven Chef/Catering experience this is a fantastic opportunity for you!

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure the Company’s and statutory regulations regarding hygiene, safety and cleanliness in all catering areas are complied with in all tasks undertaken.   
  • Delegate to the patient services supervisors and lead all aspects of food preparation, presentation and service within the catering department and within the budgetary costs to the company’s standards.
  • Ensure the prompt service of all meals and services at the required times to the company’s standards and client’s satisfaction.
  • Support the ward teams with food presentation and service training as required and attend required forums to support food within the Trust.
  • Ensure special diet requirements are met.
  • Take food samples as instructed every day and ensure they are recorded and stored in line with the company’s a legal requirement’s.
  • Maintain records and carry out all necessary temperature checks as directed.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Food  Safety Level 3
  • Relevant Chef Qualification including diets
  • IOSHH
  • Experience of working within Nutritional Guidelines within the NHS
  • Previous management experience of chefs
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills

Desirable

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skill and IT skills ( excel)
  • Menu Planning experience
  • Ability to demonstrate flair within food offers
  • Innovative

Package Description

£20,000 - £25,000 - dependant on experience

Temporary role 3 - 6 months

You will be required to work some evenings and weekends up until 7/8pm
