HMP Addiewell is a learning prison, with a strong and concerted focus on learning not to reoffend, relevant skills training and employability and we work with all areas of the wider community to ensure prisoners have the best possible chance of leading positive lives following release. Addiewell opened in 2008 and has become an integral part of the Scottish Prison Service estate earning much praise from (amongst others) HMCIP, for its innovation, use of technology, strong partnership working as well as its “can do” culture.

An opportunity has arisen to work as an PMT Administrator within HMP Addiewell reporting to the prisoner Lifeskills Unit Manager.  The role will include providing comprehensive administration support to the Team in order to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective department

Role Responsibility

  • As the main contact for partner agencies contacting the Librite Centre you will develop a good and effective worker/client relationship responding flexibly to their requests.
  • Ensure that information is stored accurately, updated and made available.
  • Provide general administration duties within the PMT Department
  • Liaise with Case Managers, Social Services, Community Partners and any other agencies involved in the integrated case management of offender rehabilitation including HDC and Parole Boards.
  • Assist the departments Lanarkshire Community Bridges Project Administrator.
  • Answer and respond to telephone enquiries and correspondence within the dept.
  • Assist in the participation of minute taking for all areas of ICM
  • Be part of a multi-tasked administrative team within HMP Addiewell
  • Carry out any other reasonable request(s) made by the Management Team.
  • Assist in the cover of other ICM / PMT Administration tasks when requested.
  • Participate in training as required in order to keep up-to-date all mandatory and refresher training.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Computer literate - sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and e-mail packages is essential
  • Knowledge or experience of customer experience service delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ablity to prioritise and manage workload
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn
  • Flexible in approach
  • Committed to personal development.

 

Desirable

  • Relevant experience is highly desirable with good educative history, including any relevant administrative qualifications.
  • Ability to minute-take in shorthand desirable, but not essential.
