Mess Manager (Catering & Hospitality)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit 2 experienced Mess (Hospitality/Catering) Managers to perform and supervise the day to day activities in two of our onsite mess's at one of our defence contracts.

In this role you will be responsible for managing high level budgets and will manage a large team, you will ensure they are fully engaged and motivated in order to deliver the high standards of service required.

Role Responsibility

  • Efficient management of the Mess including daily catering and functions (hospitality)
  • Ensuring that we deliver high quality food service to all mess members and customers
  • Managing the team to ensure a smooth and efficient service delivery
  • Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard as per service level agreement, company policy and current legislation
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within catering, hospitality or hotel management
  • Proven experience of working to high level budgets
  • Proven experience of managing a team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to  build good relationships with clients
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety

Desirable

  • IOSH and CIEH qualifications or equivalent
  • Experience of IiP
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
  • Experience of working in a military environment

Package Description

Travel and overnight stay may be required to undertake training and other business requirements.
