Management Accounts Assistant

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit 3 Management Accounts Assistant’s to provide day-to-day support around a significant number of Finance, Accounting and Administrative tasks at our offices in Salford.

This role will provide an effective and efficient service to the segments supported by our Business Shared Service and create business partnerships with operational teams and provide a value-added support infrastructure.

Within the tasks being supported, as a Management Accounts Assistant you will be required to become a subject matter expert for specific activities around billing, balance sheet preparation and business reporting.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end processes across the Management Accounting team; this will involve regular liaison with segment operational teams as well as other Finance teams throughout the UK
  • Maintaining accounting processes and procedures, including hands on data input where required
  • Process periodic journals as required
  • Involvement in the period-end billing process from start to the release of the invoice via the account manager
  • Become a super-user of SAP billing module & other key areas of SAP technology – training and educating other users
  • Driving compliance through the reporting & reducing late site submissions around purchase orders and weekly returns
  • Delivery and completion of month-end activity including client billing, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, journals, prepayments, error handling and management accounting to trial balance level for all UK segments.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous exposure to working in a Finance function and ideally a shared service centre
  • Studying towards AAT - preferable
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Previous knowledge of working with an ERP system - ideally SAP
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage a conflicting and competing workload
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure whilst achieving deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong relationship management skills.
