Management Accountant

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant; based at offices in Salford Quays. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our central Business Shared Services providing effective and efficient accounting services to the business; creating business partnerships with operational teams on different client sites whilst working with a global facilities management company.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage Profit and Loss accounting activities for Account Directors or equivalent; ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Month end processing including Journals/Accruals/Prepayments
  • The production of timely and accurate client invoices
  • Review and analyse site performance Actuals v Budget/forecast and provide commentary prior to declaration of results.
  • Create business partner relationship with Account Directors or equivalent.
  • Involvement in the production & delivery of robust forecast/budgets
  • Completion of accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Operational Accounting owned accounts.
  • Review and analyse cash movement and stock trends, highlighting areas of concern to operational line management and supporting any subsequent investigations.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Prior experience in a management accountant role
  • An ability to learn and perform accounting activities in an accurate timely manner
  • To effectively manage responsibilities and workload in a fast-paced business environment
  • An enthusiastic and passionate approach towards business challenges
  • The ability to work under your own initiative, but to operate as part of a wider team
  • Professional and proactive approach
  • Effective communicator
  • Flexible and willing to travel

 

Desirable

  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA) or QBE.
  • Systems Experience – SAP, Essbase and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience of working within a busy financial/shared service environment.

 

Contextual or other information

  • Successful candidate will be asked to apply for an enhanced disclosure for the Criminal Records Bureau and will also need to complete a Ministry of Justice Vetting Form.
