Maintenance Electrician
Job Introduction
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.
Role Responsibility
- To act upon any reasonable requests from the Team Leader and other Supervisors or Managers.
- To maintain all low voltage electrical distribution and connected power / lighting systems and assist with all other PPM routines as instructed.
- To maintain equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures connected to the electrical systems as scheduled or instructed.
- The delivery of electrical installation small works projects as instructed by the Team Leader, Supervisors or Managers in accordance with Legislation.
- To ensure that all repairs and installations are complaint with current BS7671 wiring regulations.
- To diagnose faults on equipment and repair as necessary using manufacturers manuals and drawings as required.
- To be appointed in the role of LV AP upon successful completion of the Electrical Safe Systems of Work course and subsequent formal assessment. Responsibilities thereafter to be the management of the said SSW.
- To issue Permits to Work within competencies and remit.
- To co-operate with the client and employer ensuring that all statutory Health, Safety and Welfare legislation, is adhered, including any company or site specific policies and rules.
- To be part of the on call rota for breakdown callouts across the site.
- To be prepared to work to variable hours Monday – Friday when required based on a 40 hour week.
- To provide assistance to other operatives and contractors when required.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- The applicant must have completed a formal apprenticeship or an accredited equivalent.
- City and Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent.
- City and Guilds 2377 – Portable Appliance Testing
- City and Guilds 2382 – 17th Edition Regulations
- City and Guilds 2391 – Inspection and testing of fixed electrical installations or equivalent.
- Valid driving licence.
- Good level of literacy and numerical competence
Desirable
- Valid 1st Aid Certificate
- Valid IPAF Licence.
- Valid IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
- Valid Counter balance Fork Truck License
