Laboratory Engineering Assistant

Job Introduction

This is a unique opportunity where we are offering an extensive training program me to an enthusiastic invididual. This role will allow you to utilise your skills and grow this area within Sodexo. As the Laboratory Support you will help ensure the successful delivery of repair and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation at  GSK based on site at Ulverston, Cumbria.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for supporting with the routine maintenance of HPLC and GC in accordance with the client’s current processes and validation requirements
  • Assist with updating protocols and processes
  • Assist with the scheduling of 3rd party vendor equipment for calibration/service
  • Help to Co-ordination with site operators, groups & users
  • Liaise with facility users on general instrument issues
  • Stock control of routine consumables
  • Requirement to travel around the UK at short notice

The Ideal Candidate

  • Laboratory experience and understanding
  • Scientific qualifications are preferred such as  OMC or HNC
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical Industry/GxP environment
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Customer focused – managing their expectations and resolving any issues effectively and efficiently
