Head of Commercial Projects

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Commercial Projects to work in our Sports, Leisure & Travel segment. The role can be based from offices in either Salford or London. This is a crucial role within this segment as you will need to identify key areas of focus and opportunities to drive forward the profitability of this segment; monitor the creation, gathering and analysis of data within the segment to promote high quality decision making and profitability improvement; identify opportunities to enhance existing technology platforms and introduce new technologies and processes that enhance segment performance, focussing on profitability, cash flow and generation of revenue.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sodexo in a senior leadership role; managing a team of dedicated finance professionals and driving the commercial activity of our Sport, Leisure & Travel segment.

Role Responsibility

  • Project Delivery – Properly plan, resource, supervise and where applicable deliver the agreed projects in accordance with timescales and forecast outcomes accurately tracking and demonstrating the ongoing delivery of project objectives
  • Permanence of Change – Ensure that there is sufficient ownership of the implemented actions to give permanence to the changes made and secure the full benefits
  • Key Relationships –Develop strong internal and external relationships. Internally this includes the Prestige finance community, Divisional and Account Directors, operational managers and supervisors, Business Shared Services, IT, Marketing and others as appropriate in the wider Sodexo community. Externally this includes clients, suppliers and external professional associations as appropriate.
  • Contract Engagement and Project Definition – in accordance with agreed priorities engage successfully with designated teams to fully review and develop robust and realistic business cases for change to mitigate risk and deliver real value.
  • Market Developments – Maintain an external perspective of technological and market developments to ensure that opportunities to engage such technologies within the Prestige business are maximised, following full and proper review of the ability to apply
  • Financial Compliance – Ensure that where appropriate Group accounting policies are being adhered to in the delivery of solutions

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong commercial acumen (decision maker and negotiator); willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes
  • Outstanding track record in influencing decision making and improving performance with positive profit impact
  • Continuous Improvement - Track record of engaging people in tangible plans and targets and gaining business-wide commitment for their delivery.
  • Client relationships evidenced by ability to make and influence profit decisions on behalf of the business
  • Strong reporting and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership of team members

Other information

  • Evenings and weekend working maybe required
