Head Chef
Job Introduction
We are currently seeking a highly talented and driven person to work in the one of our Dublin sites.
We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload and have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
You will be working as part of a team but you will at times be expected to work independently and under your own initiative.
Role Responsibility
- To work with the executive chef on producing innovative menus in line with SAP food policy.
- To place daily orders for the site online and over the phone.
- To manage stock levels on site in an efficient and effective manner.
- To manage wastage on site to agreed target as per the SLA.
- To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within Sodexo and SAP.
- To ensure the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and breaks at the required time being provided to the standard of the food service offer as laid out in the SLA to the clients, customer and Sodexo satisfaction.
- To ensure that the statutory and company standards of hygiene, health and safety are implemented and maintained to the highest standards and carry out regular checks at both locations.
- To ensure that all statutory and company policies and procedures are implemented and maintained and communicated to the team to ensure full compliance.
- Check temperature, delivery and cleaning sheets on a daily basis to ensure all is completed accordingly.
- Carry out date labelling checks on a daily basis to ensure compliance.
- Report any equipment or maintenance issues directly to manager on site.
- To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particulary in regard to customers special dietary requirements and in line with current allergen legislation.
- Motivate and lead employees to perform their roles to a high standard and in alignment to Sodexo policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
- Professional catering qualification NVQ2.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to targets.
- Ability to manage and lead a team.
- Good computer skills
- Ability to manage a team of staff.
- Hold CIEH and IOSH certificates.
Package Description

37.5 hrs per week - Monday to Friday
