Head Chef (Site Based)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Head Chef to manage the day-to-day and strategic operations of a busy, complex, high quality catering operation; including the management and supervision of staffing at our corporate site in Hull.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead the delivery and production of food, including a daily staff restaurant operation with a focus on quality, new menu concepts and service
  • Deliver a high quality hospitality offering which may include adhoc functions and high profile events
  • Oversee the management of a talented team, providing coaching, development and training when required
  • The engineering of menus and food innovation, ensuring that we deliver a fresh and high quality offering
  • Ensure that we deliver food and service that is of a high standard and meets company and client expectation in accordance with current legislation
  • Manage all aspects of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene & Safety
  • Ensure financial documentation and accountancy for the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels
  • Ensure that we deliver food and service that is of a high standard and meets company and client expectation in accordance with current legislation
  • Green safeguard audits are achieved across sites and must be maintained.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a Head Chef role, combined with a high level of culinary skill and fine dining experience
  • Excellent managerial skills and experience of managing a large, complex catering operation, ideally within a prestigious catering function
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments and innovations
  • Good communication skills with the proven ability to communicate at all levels
  • Good financial and commercial awareness
  • Personal innovation and passion for quality of food
  • Experience of working in a standards/compliance environment.
