HCNP Specialist Manager

HMP YOI Bronzefield is an all female prison that can hold up to 527 women.

As HCNP Specialist Manager. you will Implement and deliver the Highly Complex Needs Pilot project in line with the agreed service specifications.  You'll utilise MBT approaches to facilitate networks around the women to work with them differently, offering training, support and guidance supporting environmental and cultural change.

You'll also supervise the risk management of the women and lead on activity support and integration with the main regime, and co-manage the service with the Psychology lead ensuring effective and cohesive relationship management with all departments and agencies

Role Responsibility

  • Devise and undertake appropriate service evaluation and provide advice to others undertaking such evaluations, to develop service knowledge base and inform national policy relating to offender health.
  • Undertake project management, including complex audit and service evaluation.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual women and to provide advice and training to other professionals on risk assessment and management.
  • Undertake Offender Supervision of the women on the pilot.
  • Facilitate MBT training with the agreed network of staff.
  • Formulate and implement plans for interventions and/or management of each women’s needs as identified through goal plans and case conferences.
  • Understand the role of physical treatments for complex mental health disorders, and to offer appropriate advice to the patient, carers and clinicians in the light of such understanding.
  • Liaise closely with other members of the HCNP and wider network, giving specialist advice on psychological aspects of care, contributing directly to formulation, diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all patients of the service.

  • Good IT Skills & capabilities.
  • Project management and risk management skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in a politicised environment.
  • Previous management & leadership experience in a custodial environment
