Global Communications Manager

Role Responsibility

This position involves developing and leading the communications plan for the one of our large global account; working on the GSK contract you will work in partnership with the country communications representatives and Account Management teams. The plan must focus on employee communications and provide a connection for employees that are highly dispersed geographically across the account.

  • To partner business stakeholders in all communications activities in line with the Company’s and Client’s strategic objectives, to drive and deliver improved business results
  • To design and implement an enduring strategy for driving employee engagement to the heart of the GSK account.
  • Ensure that messaging to employees, customers & stakeholders is consistent with the overall strategy of the GSK account.
  • To define all aspects of the communications process and how materials are distributed throughout the GSK account.
  • To actively work across the contract with the Global Account Director as part of the Enterprise team. To advise and support the senior leadership in communicating its strategy and progress to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive participation and implementation of the companies Client retention programme;
  • To direct and offer guidance to the NORAM Communications Manager and interface and collaborate with country teams and country subject matter experts via a matrix structure, ensuring alignment with GSK communications channels.
  • Provide oversight and direction to develop the communication plan for the UK. Utilising account resources to design, implement & cascade effective strategies and frameworks that deploy effective communication programmes across the platform.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Post Graduate qualification in communication/marketing (CIM, CIPR or equivalent)
  • Excellent command of English language.
  • Strategic leadership skills are essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage complex projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate with multiple levels within an organization.
  • Self motivated and work well under pressure
  • Extensive  experience in a similar role within a corporate multinational environment
  • Ability to interface and engage directly with clients
  • Using persuasion and building relationships to win support for the benefit of the business
  • Working successfully with others, valuing and utilising the different skills and expertise
  • Solid understanding of international relations as well as cultural divers
