Catering Operations Manager

Job Introduction

An innovative senior catering professional is required to join the team at a prestigious independent school. The role combines both daily catering operational management with the strategic development of the food offering and service delivery. This opportunity will suit a dynamic and forward thinking individual who is able to drive daily operational excellence as well as inject passion and flair into the development of services. Role Responsibility

  • Efficient management of the catering and hospitality services, working closely with the client to develop these services and ensure a first class student dining experience
  • Effectively lead and engage the team to deliver an outstanding and efficient service to both client and students.
  • Control and monitor the financial performance of the unit and to maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure all food is prepared fresh and to a high standard as per the service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a senior management role within a customer services environment such as hospitality, catering or events
  • Experience of managing, developing and engaging a team within a catering environment
  • Demonstrable background of managing events and functions
  • Good financial awareness and ability to manage within budgetary constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Passion for delivering great food and 5* service
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
  • City & Guilds 1 & 2 Catering or NVQ equivalent
