Food Service Assistant
Job Introduction
Job Purpose
To provide excellent customer service from the preparation, presentation and service of food, beverages and vending services to the client & Sodexo’s satisfaction.
Role Responsibility
Accountabilities

•Comply with all Company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations, including human resources, site rules, health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace (Specific Site Rules)
•Assist with all aspects of the preparation of food service areas and presentation of food to the notified standard.
•To prepare all food with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies, ensuring completion of daiy allergens log.
•Serve food and drink to customers and guests as directed.
•Assist with the replenishment of food, beverages and equipment to ensure service periods do not stop.
•Assist with hygienic cleaning of utensils and work areas after service periods.
•Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards.
•Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.
•Promote a good company image to customers and guests by using positive customer service practices.
•To assist with the set up, service, clearing and cleaning of function catering as requested.
•To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities. To assist, as required, at special functions, some of which may occur outside normal working hours, for which you will be paid overtime.
•To report any complaint or compliment and take action if at all possible.
•To report any incident of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage and take action as may be appropriate or possible.
The Ideal Candidate
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential
•Pervious or Good knowledge or cooking skills and working in a kitchen
Good communications skills
•Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality.
•Previous food handling experience
•Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
•Strong customer service skills
•High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
•Experience with in the food service & basic cooking
•Excellent communication skills
•Good levels of literacy and numeracy
•The ability to demonstrate great team work in a busy environment
•Flexible approach to overtime when required
Desirable
•Basic Certificate in general hygiene
•Experience of working in an environment where compliance to standards is key.
•Knowledge of Company
•Experience in the catering industry
•Basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety
Package Description
26.25 Hours per week - Monday to Friday 9.45 til 15.30
Half Hour Break
Must have a flexible approach to working overtime when required!
we are open from 6.30 till 15.45 Monday to Friday
Flexible working in all job roles and be able to work under pressure has customer service is very important
Experience is preferred and all training will be provided
x20 Days Holiday per year plus Bank Holiday's

Main Dutys & Responsibilities
As a Food Service Assistant you will be responsible for:
•Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers, ensuring great customer service at all times
•Carry out cash handling on till transactions Using the EPOS till, serve customers and cash up at the end of service
•Ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy, assisting with waste removal and washing up
•Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
•Completing any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules
•Assisting in the effective management of stock and portion control
•Provide hospitality services to meeting rooms, including some lifting and carrying
•Maintain / Fill / Clean Food Vending Machine
•Check stock levels and replenish when necessary
•Ensure good knowledge of products on sale and on special offer
•Ensure the coffee shop is presented to a high standard throughout the day and carry out a thorough cleaning at the end of the day
•Ensure deliveries match delivery notes/invoices
•Support the Assistant Operation Manager in setting up the function room, carrying out service to a high standard, and ensuring cleardown as instructed
•To raise any issues or customer suggestions and complaints to the Catering Manager
