Finance Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager with demonstrable experience of complex contracts. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on one of our high profile contracts providing financial support to our IFM Operational Teams. You will be based from offices in Central London but will be expected to cover other sites (mainly in the South) as well as travel to Belgium 2-3 times a month for the first 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to join Sodexo helping to drive forward the commercial activity of our Corporate Services segment

Role Responsibility

  • Support the Account Director in all significant decision making.
  • Complete the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast process with the AD and senior site managers. Challenge and support this process as appropriate.
  • Support the Global Finance Director in the reporting and analysis of financial reporting for Belgium and other European regions
  • Work closely with the Belgium finance and operational teams to develop and deliver enhanced glide path reporting, monitoring and reporting key contract risk and opportunities
  • Ensure the Belgium team are developing and delivering margin enhancing work through the delivery of discrete, adhoc and project works
  • Support and ensure that Belgium and other European countries are adhering to the change control process
  • Review and analyse site performance and provide commentary prior to declaration of financial results
  • Work with senior site management/BSS to deliver accurate monthly accounts to reflect all activity within the account, ensuring that all items such as WIP / major project activity are represented accurately
  • Take an active role in supporting the AD in client meetings (e.g. quarterly reviews) and proposals for new and existing services.  As needed develop good working relationships with the senior finance managers of key sites.
  • Prepare all required documentation to support capital investment ensuring it is line with the UKIC policy guidelines.
  • Delivering a strong management review and control process with the AD, GFD and senior site management.
  • Maintaining a robust forecasting process across the area, identifying issues and opportunities and ensuring that the AD and senior site managers have plans in place to address them.
  • Ensure financial control environment is properly implemented within GSK hard services, especially around cash, stock and cost control in units.
  • Work with the operational and finance teams to analyse performance trends and opportunities
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the senior operations team - ensure they are all aware of current and future challenges e.g. mobilisations, retention activity, change controls, and seasonal trading patterns (Christmas or Summer holiday season).
  • Complete post investment reviews for new services and significant investments and ensure we learn the lessons from them.

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Educated to degree or equivalent standard with an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • Demonstrable commercial exposure to be both support and business partner to Head of Finance  and Global FD
  • Experience of financial modelling
  • Process orientation
  • Outstanding communication skills and proven ability to work in a collaborative way
  • Strong commercial acumen; willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes
  • Strong reporting and organisational skills
  • Hands on pro-active approach with an ability to work well in autonomy
  • Full driving licence

Desirable

  • Second European Language
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative way
  • Previous financial experience ideally in an international and multicultural environment
