Junior Energy Advisor

Job Introduction

Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Technical Energy Advisor (12 months FTC) to be based at one of our client sites in Cheshire. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on one of our high profile contracts providing key aspects of technical support BAU in the following areas: Energy opportunities, maintenance and associated conversion cost, Equipment Availability and Product Output, Continuous Improvements, Customer Service, People & Asset Development. The role is focused on Energy whilst delivering world class integrated FM with oversight from senior Sodexo management. The role will offer the holder great potential to develop, learn and build their task and business management skills and would ideally suit a graduate with an engineering biased Degree.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for supporting, assisting and working within teams to deliver initiatives in line with the Sodexo vision and associated Energy strategy
  • Supports Site energy saving initiatives.
  • Task management of work allocation, overseeing of work activities for energy saving opportunities
  • Involved and make appropriate inputs into the improvement BAU projects in area
  • Assist with evaluation, monitoring & identifying equipment availability
  • Act as FM representative for Site project works
  • Assist in compliance with all engineering documentation systems
  • Management of engineering change controls and actions to completion
  • Provide guidance and advice for engineering risk management
  • Assist with regulatory inspection readiness, audit support and delivery
  • Continuous Improvement, KPI management and sustainable life cycle management
  • To regularly exchange complex information, mostly guiding and advising others, who may not have technical and/or engineering experience/understanding, within own team and the team(s) that they support.
  • Engages and build effective relationships with customers and Sodexo teams
  • Influences and persuades customers so to deliver the best business solutions understanding business risk and impact and managing expectations

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • The role holder should possess and apply a sound understanding of the principles and concepts of mechanical or electrical engineering, gained through university or college.  Interest and appreciation of electrical energy, thermodynamics including properties of steam water and gas.
  • Working towards Graduate with either mechanical or electrical engineering bias
  • The role holder will have knowledge of technical processes.
  • An appreciation of risk management and HSE, the methods employed to manage risks, hazards and controls.
  • Interests in reviewing the engineering technology within a GxP / Regulatory compliant environment
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of BMS and PC systems
  • Team Working across ‘Lean’ functions
  • Technical and /or maintenance management

 

Desirable

  • Engineering related qualification (BEng, BSc etc)
  • Good understanding of HASAWA and current engineering legislation
  • The role holder will have a sound grasp of all the services delivered by iFM and will understand their impact on their customers
  • Professional accreditation  with a recognised European accrediting body eg:- (IET, IMechE)
  • IOSH working safely
  • Mentoring skills - Has the ability to train and develop others
