Job Introduction

We are looking for 4 individuals to join our medical area cleaning team at HMP Wandsworth. You will have an integral part to play in the high standards of all medical areas and maintaining standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control. It's all about ensuring that staff and patients benefit from a safe healthcare environment.

Please be aware this setting can be a challenging as well as rewarding environment, so you will need to be flexible and committed.

Role Responsibility

  • Thoroughly cleaning all Medical/Clinic areas as instructed
  • Damp dusting and damp wiping.
  • Emptying of refuse bins daily, plus check cleaning of refuse holder and disposing of rubbish following hospital procedures.
  • Use of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Cleaning of floor areas including carpets
  • Clean Domestic Equipment after use and report any faults.
  • Abide by Departmental Health & Safety Policy and Code of Practice.
  • Any other duties relevant to the Domestic Department.

Essential skills/qualifications

  • Communication / relationship, able to communicate with all levels of staff, patients and service users
  • Personal qualities and attributes.  You will need to be a team worker, articulate, self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously.  You must be able to follow instructions and have a friendly disposition

                       c/o Sodexo at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton

Salary             £8.80 hourly rate

Hours             Monday to Sunday between 7.30am and 7.30pm. 

                      (25-30 hours
