Deputy Manager (Cleaning and Hospitality Services)

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to join the team at an Independent School in Bedford. This role would suit someone who has experience of working in both a cleaning and catering environment and requires a highly motivated individual with excellent organisation and planning skills and confidence in dealing with clients, management and staff at all levels.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide ‘hands on’ support to ensure the efficient management of daily domestic and catering services
  • Support the General Services Manager to ensure an efficient service is provided at all times and with the day-to-day operation, including client presentations and meetings.
  • Ensure a high quality hospitality service is delivered.
  • Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard as per service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation.
  • Ensure financial documentation and accountancy of the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within both catering and cleaning environments
  • Good financial acumen and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience of managing a team within a catering and cleaning environment
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
  • City & Guilds 1 & 2 Catering or NVQ equivalent
