Deputy Catering Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Catering Manager to assist the Catering Manager with the day to day running of a private school in Ascot.

The school is a 7 day week operation and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

If you have previous management experience, knowledge of Health and Safety and a good understanding of payroll and invoicing this is a great opportunity for you.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for all Hospitality related activities, production service, clear down and cashing up at end of day and balancing the Safe float.
  • Ensure department is locked and secure during closing times.
  • Manage staff rotas according to level of business.
  • Enter invoices, stocks with stock take, recording sales on ‘E’ ProphIT.
  • Take full responsibility for all Health and Safety, Risk assessment, HACCP and staff training / training record  cards in the unit.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies.
  • Prepare relevant bookwork in readiness for closing the books.
  • Support the Catering Manager in the recruitment, support, control and discipline of staff according to the needs of the unit and within the procedure laid down by the Company, keeping accurate, up-to-date personnel records for all staff as laid down in the Unit HR Manual.
  • To deputise in the Catering Manager’s absence (covering sickness & holidays).
  • To attend meetings and training courses as requested.

Desirable

  • Recognised catering qualification
  • Experience of managing a team in an educations establishment

Package Description

Up to £27,000 dependant on experience

Occasional weekend and shift work to cover functions etc
