Commis Chef

Job Introduction

Peyton & Byrne is a modern British contract caterer headed up by Oliver Peyton, with restaurants and cafes located in some of London’s premier Galleries and attractions. Due to internal development we are now seeking a Commis Chef to help contribute to the success of our restaurant at Kew Gardens.


 

Role Responsibility

Working alongside the kitchen management team, you will be part of a dynamic group that aim’s to provide food that not only exceeds our guest expectations in flavour, substance and presentation, but is also in line with agreed company & legal standards. This is in addition to ensuring that the food costs of the business are well managed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To consistently prepare and cook all food to the standards and dish specifications;
  • To be punctual, hands on and present during the busy service periods, and prepared to be flexible;
  • To establish and maintain relations between all members of the restaurant team;
  • To ensure Health & Safety Policy and Food Safety Management System are adhered to;
  • To take responsibility for your own career path and continuous self-improvement ;
  • To maintain excellent levels of personal hygiene and presentation standards at all times;
  • To accept all deliveries to Peyton & Byrne standards;
  • To assist in accurate record keeping, security and safe storage of all relevant deliveries;
  • To assist with food stock counting on a weekly basis;
  • To report and minimised food wastage.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in a standards /compliance environment
  • Relevant qualification and training
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
  • Personal innovation and passion

Package Description
