Job Introduction

To oversee the catering operations at the site to the levels laid out in the Zurich Service Towers and within the Schedules of the Contractual Terms and Conditions agreed with respective clients.

This is a functional role to produce all catering services at the required times to the company’s standard, within the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, quantitative and financial targets

Sunday - Thursday shift pattern may be required.

Role Responsibility

  • To order, prepare, cook and serve all food items in line with the service offer for the staff and visitors at Mark Lane.
  • To order all non food items in line with the service offer for the staff and visitors at Mark Lane.
  • To control and monitor the financial performance of the unit and to maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets.
  • To meet the demands of the customers by providing the right catering services within the agreed SLA and contract agreement.
  • To carry out a daily customer journey and monitor customer patronage levels and ATV to meet and exceed KPI’s and customer satisfaction levels.
  • To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.
  • To implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.
  • To implement and maintain all Statutory and Company policies and procedures, communicating it to all staff and ensuring full compliance.
  • To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, the key 14 allergens.
  • Manage the quality and hygiene of the food cycle from preparation to service.
  • Maintain levels of stock, cash, local credit and debt outstanding to the agreed establishment targets.
  • Obtain purchases from Sodexo nominated suppliers.
  • Ensure that all equipment used is in safe working order, checked regularly, and serviced. Report any faults to management and ensure they are rectified and ensure equipment is not used until safe.
  • Ensure that all equipment, monies and the overall establishment is safe and secure at all times.
  • Ensure that all Sodexo employees project a positive, approachable, friendly and professional image.
  • Hold weekly team briefing meetings using the company team brief format.
  • To attend a PDR with your line manager and to agree and take ownership of your PDR and your training and development needs.
  • Attend company training courses and meetings as requested.
  • Undertake regular and effective promotions and special days.
  • Ensure all special functions are completed to the required standard of food and service and are also undertaken within pre-budgeted costs
  • Undertake development plans for both heavy and light equipment to ensure pre-planned phased purchasing.
  • To continually drive towards service excellence, customer satisfaction and delivering innovation in all areas.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong level of literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ 2 & 3 or equivalent
  • Previous experience in high profile corporate services operation.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions / approaches
  • Strong ability to increase individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Computer literate
  • Able to demonstrate positive attitude to self development, willingness to learn in role and identify own training needs as appropriate
  • High level of self-motivation
