Chef Supervisor

Job Introduction

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your management career as a Supervisor. In this role, you will support the management team at a high profile independent school and provide daily food production/core feeding delivery and day to day team supervision.

As an experienced Chef looking to progress at supervisory level, you will have a natural focus on food quality, service delivery and team engagement.


 

Role Responsibility

  • Supervise the daily delivery and production for food/retail/hospitality services for an independent school.
  • Supervise, develop and motivate a team of Chefs to ensure a high quality service is delivered, providing coaching and training when required.
  • Support reviewing of the service offering and the engineering of menus and food innovation for the site.
  • Support all aspects of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene for the kitchen
  • Support in ensuring financial documentation and accountancy of the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Chef or Chef Supervisor, ideally within volume catering, hospitality and retail.
  • Demonstrable supervisory skills and experience of training and developing
  • Excellent craft skills
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments and innovations
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Personal innovation and passion for quality food
  • Experience working in a standards/compliance environment
