Chef Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo have a fantastic job opportunity for a Chef Manager on a client site in the centre of Cork, are you innovative and enthusiastic about food? We are looking for an individual with a good flair for food, management skills, to engage and work with our client and support them on a daily basis. 

As Chef Manager you will have accountability for planning, organising, co-ordinating, controlling, motivating and training people within your immediate subordinate team to achieve the business objectives set for and agreed for the delivery of Catering Services on site. You will interact with the client on a day to day basis and ensure that client requests are dealt with in a timely manner. The Chef Manager must ensure all health and safety is observed on site related policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times. You will also have accountability to manage the financial budget and P&L.

The catering department is operational Monday to Friday. The core offer is breakfast consisting of cooked breakfast and continental offer. Lunch consists of three hot choices, salad bar and dessert. The number of Shared Services Employees is 300 and contractors vary on site from 10 to 20.

Role Responsibility

• To ensure financial aspects of catering/facilities operations on site are managed professionally and within the financial guideline agreed with the client.
• To ensure the premises are kept to agreed level of cleanliness, and maintain safe working practices at all times.
• To control expenditure undertaken as part of the contract including payment of wages, overtime, managing absence, bonus and other employee related costs.
• To represent Sodexo at client meetings as required.
• To attend appropriate training courses, conferences and meetings as directed by the Company or client.
• To ensure the standards across the sites are in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators as specified in the service contract.
• Recruit, manage, induct, train, motivate and appraise staff to promote good employee relations and operate within Company procedures, legislation and the Excellence Through People standards. 
• Maintain training records for all staff, ensuring that individual needs are recognised and met either through on or off job training.
• Hold bi-monthly team briefing meetings using Company team brief format.
• To ensure that all Health and Safety issues and paperwork are dealt with effectively.
• Development of menus cycles in conjunction with Catering Team.
• To ensure that all Allergan folders are up to date for Catering services site-wide
