Catering Stores and Distribution Manager - Hospital/Healthcare

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Catering Stores, Distribution/Logistics manager to coordinate the efficient provision and distribution of patient food services for a hospital.

Role Responsibility

  • Effectively manage the operation to ensure that all catering services at ward level and in the retail outlets are met.
  • Control the provision of foods to the wards and department within the Trust
  • Maintain stock levels to meet Sodexo guidelines.
  • Effectively use and manage an online ordering system
  • Ensure that all departments financial targets are met in line with annual budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure extremely high standards of food preparation are in line with the strict hygiene procedure.
  • Maintain an effective stock requisition process to ensure all stock is allocation correctly and can be accounted for
  • Complete weekly inter department stock transfers using stock requisition forms
  • Ensure all staff observe and adhere to all relevant Health and Safety legislation and that records are kept.
  • To ensure that all staff are trained in all relevant Food Safety and Health Safety legislation company and Trust policy and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within volume food distribution
  • Computer literate in excel and word
  • IOSH Working Safely and Level 2 Food Hygiene certificates
  • Experience in managing a catering team
  • Oragnised, pro-active with strong logistics skills

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely and Level 3 Food Hygiene certificates
  • Knowledge or experiance in managing stock control systems
