Catering Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a Catering Manager to lead the student catering operation for an independent school.

Role Responsibility

  • Management of the student catering operation, including breakfast, break and lunch services for up to 1,000 pupils on site (including boarding) and occasional evening functions/events.
  • Efficient management of a small team, ensuring we deliver a high quality service.
  • Control and monitor the financial performance of the unit and to maintain costs within pre-budgeted targets.
  • Ensure all food is freshly cooked and prepared to a high standard as per service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation.
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within contract catering or an education contract
  • Experience of managing a team within a catering environment
  • Craft background and ability to manage a kitchen
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the food industry
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety
  • City & Guilds 1 & 2 Catering or NVQ equivalent
