Caretaker
Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
- Face to face contact with students and members of the public
- Security of the site
- Carrying out routine maintenance
- Maintaining the site
- Keeping the site clean and tidy
- Attending any necessary training courses
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role must have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Handyman/DIY skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- The ability to be proactive and identify any areas of improvement and bring these to the attention of line manager
Package Description
To present a smart, calm and courteous response to tenants, colleagues and general public.
To maintain the tidiness of general site areas, especially bin compounds. Comply with Sodexo waste management policies.
Carry out cleaning tasks as detailed.
Wear appropriate PPE as required/instructed.
Stock control & use of cleaning materials & equipment.
Have a good working knowledge of building facilities and company procedures.
Adhoc administration duties to maintain key building records and "move in" new residents.
To liaise with and assist Facilities Technician as and when required.
To report all damages/faults and deficiencies to the Accommodation Manager.
Organise & issue tenants post received on a daily basis.
Attend to problems with access control/tenant lock outs.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Carry out periodic reviews on tenant cleaning standards and check out meets as required.
Respond to emergency situations and fire alarms and liaise with facilities team as required.
Attend nominated training courses both in-house and external.
Maintain strict controls on hazardous materials in storage and in use.
