Assistant Hotel Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the General Manager and lead the team at Nestlé’s training centre - Rasleighs Business Centre.

You will be required to oversee the housekeeping and conference teams and to assist in the day to day running of the hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team and to work within an elegant Country House Hotel.

You will be required to work Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work, there are a combination of shifts (early 7.00 - 3.30pm, late 1.00 - 9.30pm).

Role Responsibility

  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring that all departments are efficiently run with particular emphasis on the continual improvement of service standards and Health & Safety for the site.
  • Duty Management – Share shifts with other duty managers which involves the daily opening and closing of the site, ensuring that all departments are staffed sufficiently, dealing with any shortfalls and customer requests.
  • Manage all aspects of the site in the absence of the Manager.
  • Control the sale and purchasing of liquor stock providing weekly and monthly stock figures for customer accounting and budget report.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all health & safety policies and procedures are implemented in line with Sodexo standards.
  • Assist the Conference Coordinator with enquiries and reservations using ‘Infor’ reservations system and to cover absence and holidays in the Admin office.
  • Record and monitor all staff holidays/absence and prepare weekly rota for the site.
  • Undertake specific projects with the Site Manager as required.

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of ‘Hotel’ reservations system
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent Customer service skills
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Proven supervisory or management experience

Desirable

  • Hospitality qualification
  • Experience in quality Hotel / Training Centre
  • Personal Licence holder
  • NEBOSH certificate
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
