Analytical Laboratory Technician

Role Responsibility

Job Purpose

  •  To provide support to Product Development Analytical Services, primarily undertaking testing on booklet labels and packaging components. Ensure work is carried out to exact specifica-tions and in accordance with all GSK/Sodexo policies and procedures.

 
Accountabilities or “what you have to do”

  •   Simple analytical tests meeting testing lead time targets of packaging components including (but are not limited to) bags, sachet laminates, pouches and desiccants. Tests to include:
  •     o Visual inspections,
  •     o Descriptions,
  •     o Weighing,
  •     o Dimensions
  •   Undertake capsule weighing
  •   Checking and testing of batches of booklet labels to a GSK specification
  •   Archiving of data for Analytical Services group
  •   Keep accurate records of work undertaken, methods used, and results achieved in pre-scribed electronic systems
  •   Daily liaison with both analysts and team leader regarding testing and test results. 
  •   Supplying data/reports to line manager and client as requested.
  •   To adhere to and help maintain the highest levels of safety and GxP within the section and ensure training records are kept up to date.
  •   Assist with maintaining good housekeeping standards within the laboratory. Undertake equipment cleans or decontaminations as required.
  •   To attend and actively participate in comm cells, meetings and training courses as required.
  •   Work is undertaken within a laboratory environment.  PPE must be worn.
  •   Handling of hazardous chemicals and new unknown entities.
  •   Carry out other appropriate tasks at the request of the Managers, Team Leaders and Super-visors.
